An animal rescue takes in homeless animals until they are adopted into a new, loving family. An animal sanctuary keeps and cares for homeless animals for their lifetime. Since a diverse assortment of animal species come to us, we have a very strict assessment process to determine whether the animal and the species is appropriate to rehome into a standard family dynamic or whether the animal should remain with us in our sanctuary. Many of the animals that we rescue are not appropriate to adopt out. This is usually due to medical issues, temperament/behavioral concerns, or because the species of animal requires a level of expertise that most people simply don't possess. We have a responsibility to both the animal and the general public to not place animals in homes that could be a safety concern.
We often get contacted by people inquiring about adopting certain animal species from us. Though some animals do permanently stay here at our sanctuary, others do go up for adoption after they are deemed ready for a new home. We do not keep wait lists or call lists when animals come in or go up for adoption, so the best way to stay up to date on our adoptables is to follow us on our social media accounts and to periodically check our Adoptables page.
